The Cuarterolo archive is an
image bank which houses over 5000
historic photographs. These images make
up the M & M Cuarterolo' s
Collection, considered to be one of the
largest historic collections in South
America in private hands, focused on
Argentine and Latin American photography.
This collection contains a large amount
of unique images (daguerreotypes,
ambrotypes and tintypes) of the 1840-1860
period. It is specially strong and noted
for its images on the Paraguayan war and
those who took part in what is considered
to be the largest confrontation in South
America (1864-1870). Our image bank
contains images from other documentary
sources, which allows us to cover many
subjects between 1840 and 1950.
The archive offers authors, editors,
historians, researchers and the media,
audio-visual research services and the
use of a large number of images of great
historic and documentary value. |
